150 YOUNG PEOPLE EQUIPPED WITH DIGITAL SKILLS IN LAGOS

150 youths drawn from different communities across Lagos have been equipped with digital skills by United Way Greater Nigeria, in partnership with Rack Centre under the Skill To Employment Programme (STEP). The graduation ceremony, the organisers said, marked a significant milestone in the lives of 150 youths from Ojota, Oregun, Ikeja, and Ogudu, who completed an intensive eight-week training in graphics design, digital marketing, front end web development, as well as networking and security. The organisers said the successful participants were not only graduates of the programme, but also secured internship placements in organisations across the state. “This practical experience is crucial in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application, ensuring a smoother transition into the workforce.”

Some of the programme’s exceptional graduates were awarded laptops to support their continued learning and professional development. The Executive Director, United Way Greater Nigeria, Deola Durodola, at the graduation ceremony. said: “The Skill To Employment Programme exemplifies our commitment to fostering talents and empowering communities across the country.” “United Way Greater Nigeria will continue to provide opportunities that will pose as a building block for the future of every community in Nigeria. We are delighted to have seen the hard work of the programme participants throughout their learning journey and now witnessing their entry into their professional paths. We truly value and cherish collaborative initiatives like this and we thank Rack Centre” “United Way Greater Nigeria will continue to provide opportunities that will pose as a building block for the future of every community in Nigeria.
