DENTAL SCREENING OUTREACH
admin- In honour of National Children’s Dental Health Month, United Way Greater Nigeria partnered with Family Dental Care Lagos to hold a dental screening outreach at Khan Foundation Junior Academy for 120 students.
- The dental outreach consisted of an oral health talk that promoted dental hygiene and the suitable techniques for toothbrushing and the importance of maintaining oral hygiene. Children got the opportunity to practice their toothbrushing techniques with a sample toothbrush and a fake mouth model. Children’s teeth were assessed and evaluated and they left with their own dental kits and an oral health report card that detailed the results of the screening.
- The dental screening outreach was held to promote the awareness of dental hygiene and to shine light on the importance of biannual dental check-ups. This is to prevent the formation of cavities and plaque-build ups thereby promoting and maintaining healthy dentition.
