United Way Greater Nigeria brought together 100 young girls to educate them on menstrual hygiene, debunk common myths and misconceptions, and empower them with the knowledge to manage their health effectively.
The program provided comprehensive education on menstrual hygiene, covering:
- Safe and hygienic practices
- Sanitary product use
- Infection prevention
The girls also participated in a myth-busting session to address common misconceptions and stigmas surrounding menstruation. Additionally, they received practical training on calculating menstrual cycles, enabling them to predict and prepare for their periods.
Eight student champions were selected to promote menstrual health within the school, ensuring a sustainable impact.
United Way Greater Nigeria also donated menstrual products to reinforce the practical aspects of hygiene education.
