He is the Founder and CEO of Casava Inc. – a licensed Insurtech and Microinsurance Underwriter. Casava is Nigeria’s first 100% digital insurance company, rebuilding insurance from the ground up to be affordable, valuable, and convenient for Nigerian consumers and small businesses. In February 2022, Casava raised $4m in venture funding, the largest pre-seed raise for an insurtech in Africa. Before Casava, Bode was the Founder and former CEO of Veda Technology, an indigenous computer manufacturing firm in Nigeria. He was responsible for growing Veda to become an integral part of Nigeria’s local manufacturing industry, pioneering local computer design, and the local assembly of Veda-branded computers and related hardware. Since 2008, Veda has fostered local content within Government and Academic institutions, creating numerous jobs and enabling a computer hardware ecosystem within Nigeria. He is also the founding member and current Chairman of the Certified Computer Manufacturers Association (CCMON). As a serial entrepreneur, tech investor, and co-founder of SquarePine Investments, Bode has founded or contributed to the success oåf numerous tech and media companies, including BellaNaija, MotoCheck, Okadabooks, MoneyMie, BigCabal, Herconomy, Kippa, Lenco amongst others. As investor and Chairman of BellaNaija, Bode was instrumental in establishing BellaNaija as Nigeria and one of Africa’s leading tech media companies.
In 2023, Bode founded Astra Fellowship, providing its first cohort of 40 software engineers with personal development, leadership, and entrepreneurial skills required for career or business growth. Bode received the IT & Telecoms Entrepreneur of the Year Award at the Nigerian Telecoms Awards held in Lagos, Nigeria, in 2009, becoming the youngest-ever recipient of the award. He also won the Business Owner of the Year Award at the 2011 Future Awards and the Young Entrepreneur of the Year at the 2009 Mode Men Awards. He is an associate of the Nigeria Leadership Initiative and a 2011 Global Shaper of the World Economic Forum. In 2022, Bode became a Senior Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN). He studied Computer Science at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, USA, and is a graduate of the Program for Leadership Development at Harvard Business School – an accelerated alternative to an executive MBA (EMBA)
