United Way Greater Nigeria (UWGN) implemented the Promoting Inclusive Economic Growth and Development Through Sustainable
Programmes (PIE-GDP) initiative in Kofa Kadiri LGA, Maiduguri, Borno State. The project's overarching goal is to empower young
people aged 15-24 towards achieving inclusive economic growth and development, aligning with the UN's sustainable development
goals, particularly Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and Goal 10 (Reduced Inequality).
Improve employment and entrepreneurship-related knowledge and skills of 100 young people in targeted Kofa Kadiri Local
Government Area, provide access to economic opportunities by linking young people to mentorship, internship, and apprenticeship
chances.

Tertiary education beneficiaries received mentorship, leadership skill training, soft skill development, and digital skills training, both

The PIE-GDP initiative unfolded over a 12-month period, from September 2022 to August 2023, facilitating sustained and
comprehensive engagement with the beneficiaries. Beneficiaries experienced improved knowledge, skills, and abilities, aligning with
the project's goal of inclusive economic growth, young individuals were linked to mentorship, internship, and apprenticeship chances,
fostering economic opportunities.
The intentional linkage of unemployed youth with local entrepreneurs aimed to boost community ownership, ensuring acquired skills
aligned with local economic needs.
